My Green Story
For several years, I worked as as a freelance writer and creative director at a trade show marketing agency. This followed a decade of producer and management roles in the dot.com and events industry. I have also designed curricula and delivered trainings.
One of several programs I scripted for an Intel trade show exhibit presented the company's sustainability initiatives. Another explained the energy efficiency potential of nanotechnology ... in 90 seconds.
I was hooked. How to create high-impact green messaging was just my cup of tea, taking full advantage of my ability to quickly grasp complex issues and communicate them simply -- whether it was to a live audience or through multimedia.

In 2008, I came across research that cited cost as the top reason people weren't buying green products. Ready for a new challenge, I launched Ecobunga!, a comprehensive online directory of green giveaways and deals. I served as chief marketer, managing editor, and director of you-name-it. Highlights include:
Conscious Copywriting
Unfortunately, after several years Ecobunga went Eco-busta. Darn that recession. So I took a staff position as a copywriter/content developer for a local Bay Area advertising agency. While green marketing was not the firm's primary focus, I was fortunate to work on my fair share of eco-assignments, particularly for government agencies and automotive clients. Please view my portfolio for examples. Plus, I got to ride my bike to work. Happiness is a carbon-free commute. Now Available Three years (and well over a thousand print, broadcast, and digital ads) later, I am casting my talents back in the job pond. Permanent ... contract ... freelance ... I'm open to all. My goal? To help companies and organizations craft their sustainability communications, avoid the pitfalls of greenwashing, and choose the right medium for their message. Please drop me a line if I can be of help. |
